All-Inclusive Flooded Timber Hunt in Southeast Missouri (3-Day)

Gobler, MO

4-10 Hunters • Lodge • Private • Guided

Description

This trip includes 3 mornings in the timber and 3 nights at the lodge!

Many think Arkansas is the only place to hunt mallards in the flooded timber. Well, they would be WRONG. Our Missouri timber hunts can be some of the best mallard hunting in the country. We manage our timber hunting farm to hold and attract thousands of mallards in order to ensure our hunters' success. We have large rest areas and leave plenty of food to entice ducks to stay on our properties for the whole season.

When hunting flooded timber with our operation, you will be hunting in seasonally flooded buckbrush/scrub swamps as well as some bottomland hardwoods. Most of our timber hunting is made up of cypress swamps and willow flats. While it may not be the same sight as an Arkansas Greentree Reservoir, you can bet it is still a sight you want to see! Being in such close proximity to the Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge, we have an abundance of opportunities to see thousands of migrating ducks each and every day which is why our timber duck hunts have become a hunter favorite.

When the weather and conditions align, our flooded timber hunts are truly a one of a kind experience and one you will be sure to remember for many years to come.

What to Expect

On one of our flooded timber hunts, you will be chauffeured right into one of our spacious, heated duck blinds to get ready for the morning hunt. You will be overlooking a large spread of Higdon decoys while waiting for the first flight. There is nothing else like being able to watch mallard ducks work through the trees and finish in such close proximity that it seems like you could just reach out and grab them. Watching one of our well trained retrievers navigate through the trees fetching the downed birds is worth the trip alone.

Once you've experienced the thrill of dozens of mallards wizzing through the treetops, you will fully understand why our flooded timber hunts are a huge request of our repeat customers.

As with all of our guided hunts, your flooded timber hunt will include:

  • Professional Guides
  • Extensive Decoy Spread
  • Transportation To & From The Blind
  • Breakfast, Plenty of Coffee, & Drinks of Your Choice

FAQ

Can you bring your retriever on a guided hunt?

- Yes, we do allow clients to bring their well-trained retrievers on self-guided and *guided hunts. If you are interested in bringing your retriever, please let us know beforehand because it must be cleared by our staff before your trip. It is expected that your retriever is under control at all times for their own safety.

*Guided groups must have a minimum of 4 members in order to be considered for retriever approval. This is to guarantee you are the only party hunting.*

Are waders needed to hunt the various locations?

- Because we have multiple spots, the water depth is hard to give in a concrete value. In some areas the depth is just a few inches while in others it can be up to two feet deep. We strongly encourage our self guided clients to wear waders. If you are on a guided hunt a good pair of waterproof knee-boots will be fine because our guides will provide transportation right up to the blind/pit.

What are the bag limits?

- 6 ducks per hunter

- 2 specklebelly

- 20 snow geese

- The possession limit is 3 times your daily limit.

What types of ducks are most commonly harvested in the area?

- Mallards, Gadwalls, Pintails, Divers, Green-Winged Teal, Widgeons, and Shovelers

Are ATV/UTVs needed for Self Guided Hunts?

- While they are not required, we strongly advise that you make arrangements to bring a way of transportation to and from the pits. The gumbo mud of Missouri can be challenging for even the most fit of hunters. Most clients would agree it is an absolute necessity for a smooth hunt.

Are Guided hunting parties mixed?

- While we try to keep it a last resort to mix groups, if your group has less than 4 people it is a possibility that we will combine groups. Please note that if we combine groups it is because we strongly believe we can provide the best quality hunt this way.

Do you allow young children on trips?

- Of course, all of our team sparked a love for waterfowl hunting at a young age, and we would love the opportunity to share the excitement that happens in a duck blind with your young hunters.
